LAWTON, Oklahoma – Midwestern State looks to get back on track this Friday when they open Lone Star Conference play against Cameron University. MSU went 0-4 last week at a pair of tournaments despite strong play from senior
Sarah Eakin and junior
Audry Lopez.

SERIES HISTORY
Midwestern State has struggled against Cameron over the years, registering a 23-35 mark against the Lawton, Oklahoma based university. From 1991-2004, MSU Texas dropped 24-straight matches to the Aggies. Recently, the Mustangs appear to be turning the corner against their Lone Star Conference nemesis, as MSU has won four of the last six meetings.

MASSETH MAKING MOVES
Kaitlyn Masseth recorded the first two double-doubles of her career at last week's DBU Patriot Tournament. Against Missouri Southern State, Masseth logged 18 assists and 10 digs. Then, the freshman tallied 11 assists and 11 digs against Dallas Baptist.

EAKIN IS RAKIN'
Sarah Eakin hit a gaudy .349 at a pair of tournaments last week and is hitting .358 for the season. The Wichita Falls native leads the Mustangs with 79 kills, 28 blocks, and 101 points.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron University is off to a 3-5 start in 2019 and like MSU, all of their matches have come at tournaments. The Aggies will play their first home match of the season when they welcome the Mustangs to Aggie Gym on Friday night. Cameron is fresh off a three set sweep of East Central. Shantalle Demirjian paces the Aggies with a team-high 68 kills (2.34 kills/set).

COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.

A quick turnaround as the Mustangs travel to Fort Smith, Arkansas on Saturday for a Lone Star Conference match against Arkansas-Fort Smith. Match time is 1 p.m. from the Stubblefield Center.
