Storylines
First Serve
Midwestern State begins its quest for a third-straight Lone Star Conference crown as the Mustangs open up LSC play on the road. The No. 34-ranked Mustangs travel to No. 21 Angelo State, UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico beginning on Thursday.

Last Time Out
MSU Texas snapped a two-match skid with a 6-1 rout of Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday at the MSU Tennis Center. The Mustangs ended a seven-match slide of losing the doubles point as senior Greta Lazzarotto broke the all-time doubles wins record to get MSU ahead.

MSU Texas Approaches 500th Program Win
Midwestern State is five wins away from its 500th win in program history. The Mustangs 495-332-3 (.598) would become the seventh MSU program to eclipse the 500 win plateau.

Three-Peat?
The Mustangs aim for their fifth LSC crown in the last crown in the last six years as league action begins on Thursday. MSU won the conference regular season and postseason tournament in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.

The Maroon and Gold take to the road for four of the six league matches this season. MSU Texas hosts Texas A&M-Kingsville and Tarleton State before closing the regular season with a trip to Cameron.

Coffman Makes Ranking History
Midwestern State slid five spots to No. 34 in the team rankings after a 1-1 week with a win over Arkansas-Fort Smith and loss to now 17th-ranked St. Edward's.

Senior Maddy Coffman became the highest-ranked individual in program history, garnering a No. 2 ranking in the Oracle/ITA National Singles Rankings. The Flower Mound native boasts a 7-3 record at the No. 1 singles flight with four wins over nationally ranked opponents. Coffman climbed five spots from No. 7 following a 7-5, 6-4 win against SEU's Beth Hayward on Friday.

MSU's All-American duo of junior Ashley Ramirez and Coffman dropped one spot to No. 16 in the national doubles rankings.

Best to Ever Do It
Senior Greta Lazzarotto passed Brooke Gray (2000-03) for the most career doubles wins on Saturday with her 79th career victory. Partnered with freshman Casie Curry, the tandem closed out a tiebreaker, 7-3, to lock up the historic win.

Lazzarotto is eight combined wins away from passing Lacey Wuthrich (2002-05) for the most all time at 138. The Bassano del Grappa, Italy, native is currently tied for fourth with 131 combined wins.

The Italian moved into seventh all-time with her 52nd-career singles win. She needs 12 singles wins to match Wuthrich for the most all-time.

Coffman & Duff Near Win No. 100
Senior Maddy Coffman and junior Bianca Duff are six and nine wins away from their 100th combined victory with the Maroon and Gold.

Coffman can become the ninth player in program history with at least 50 wins in both singles and doubles. The Flower Mound native boasts a 44-15 record in singles and a 50-16 mark in doubles.

At 91-36 overall, Duff can crack the top 15 on the all-time list for MSU Texas with three wins
