Storylines
First Serve
Midwestern State begins a whirlwind weekend on Thursday with a trip to east Texas to meet UT Tyler and Tyler JC before venturing to Bolivar, Mo., for a showdown with Southwest Baptist on Saturday. The Maroon and Gold return to the MSU Tennis Center on Sunday against Northwest Missouri State.

Last Time Out
The Mustangs dropped a pair of matches to top-10 competition, falling to No. 10 Indianapolis 4-2 and No. 8 West Florida 4-3.

Linn Nears Win No. 300 in the Maroon and Gold
Scott Linn enters his ninth season at the helm of the men's and women's tennis programs, needing 13 wins for his 300th overall win at MSU Texas. The East Central graduate has posted a 287-127 (.693) combined record with the Mustangs, including a 148-64 (.698) mark with the women's program. He needs 220 wins to match Larry Wiggins (1995-2010) program record of 507.

Midwestern State Approaches 500th Program Win
Midwestern State is nine wins away from its 500th win in program history. The Mustangs 491-330-3 (.598) would become the seventh MSU Texas program to eclipse the 500 win plateau.

Mustangs Down to No. 33 in ITA Poll
Midwestern State dropped 19 spots in the Oracle/ITA national rankings to No. 33 despite a 5-2 record.

The Mustangs own wins over then-14th-ranked Northeastern State and 21st-ranked St. Mary's, while the two losses came to foes ranked in the top-10 in Indianapolis (No. 10) and West Florida (No. 8).

In the individual rankings, senior Maddy Coffman moved up to No. 13 with a 3-2 record at the No. 1 flight. The Flower Mound native produced wins over the Nos. 24, 33 and 38 singles players prior to Wednesday's rankings release.

In doubles, Coffman and junior Ashley Ramirez moved to No. 10 in the national poll after a 2-0 start to the season while the duo of Bianca Duff and Greta Lazzarotto made their first appearance in the polls this year at No. 42.

Lazzarotto Goes For Doubles Record
Senior Greta Lazzarotto is one win away from matching Brooke Gray's (2000-03) program record of 78 wins. The senior boasts a 77-12 career mark in doubles, including a 37-7 mark at the No. 2 flight.

Lazzarotto is 11 combined wins away from passing Lacey Wuthrich (2002-05) for the most all time at 138.

The Italian moved into ninth all-time with her 50th-career singles win last week. She needs 14 singles wins to match Wuthrich for the most all-time.

Coffman Break No. 1 Doubles Record
Senior Maddy Coffman passed her sister Taylor for the most No. 1 doubles wins in program history. The Flower Mound native broke the record against Metro State with partner Casie Curry. Overall Coffman owns a 49-12 career mark in doubles.
