Midwestern State continues its season-opening homestand with its second-straight top-25 matchup. The Mustangs welcome 21^st-ranked St. Mary's to the MSU Tennis Center on Thursday. First serve is set for 2 p.m. Please note that the start time has been pushed back an hour due to the threat of inclement weather.
 
Scouting the Rattlers
St. Mary's enters the match with a 4-1 record and a No. 21 national ranking…StMU swept Laredo CC, CSU-Pueblo and UT Permian Basin while earning a 6-1 win against Angelo State…the lone loss came against Tarleton State, 5-2…Ally Maciel leads the Rattlers with a No. 38 singles ranking and a 3-0 record at the No. 1 flight…Rani Goodland boasts a 4-0 record in singles, going 3-0 at the No. 3 flight…in doubles, StMU owns an 11-4 record as a team, losing the doubles point to Angelo State and Tarleton State…
 
Linn Nears Win No. 300 in the Maroon and Gold
Scott Linn enters his ninth season at the helm of the men's and women's tennis programs, needing 24 wins for his 300^th overall win at MSU Texas. The East Central graduate has posted a 276-124 (.690) combined record with the Mustangs, including a 144-62 (.699) mark with the women's program. He needs 231 wins to match Larry Wiggins (1995-2010) program record of 507.
 
MSU Texas Approaches 500^th Program Win
Midwestern State is 13 wins away from its 500^th win in program history. The Mustangs 487-328-3 (.597) would become the seventh MSU Texas program to eclipse the 500 win plateau.

Mustangs Up to No. 14 in ITA Poll
Midwestern State moved up one spot to No. 14 in the latest Oracle/ITA women's team rankings. The Mustangs carry the highest ranking in the South Central Region, ahead of No. 21 St. Mary's and No. 23 Tarleton State.
 
Announcing Your Presence With Authority
The Maroon and Gold opened the 2019 season with a dominant 6-1 win over then-No. 14 Northeastern State on Feb. 16.
