Johnson Gets Win No. 150
Noel Johnson recorded her 150^th career win at MSU Texas on Saturday with a 72-62 win over Texas Woman's at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. After becoming the winningest coach in program history on Dec. 19, 2017 in a 72-66 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Johnson became the first coach with 150 wins in the Maroon and Gold.
   
Overall, the Mustangs have posted a 150-152 (.497) record under Johnson's guidance with three-straight NCAA Division II South Central Regional berths from 2013-15 and a regional title game appearance during a historic run in 2012-13.
 
Out for Vengeance
The Mustangs look to avenge a 73-62 loss to then No. 19 Angelo State on Jan. 26 at the Junell Center. MSU Texas was hindered by a 2-for-21 start from the floor before cutting the deficit to five at the half.
 
ASU pushed the lead to 10 early in the second half and maintained a double-digit edge for the majority of the contest.
 
Senior Chelcie Kizart led the Maroon and Gold with 16 points while freshman Haevyn Risley boasted a career-high with 13 points in the loss.
 
Dome Magic
The Mustangs return to the friendly confines of D.L. Ligon Coliseum. After a 3-3 start under the Dome, MSU Texas has won six-straight, picking up wins against UT Permian Basin (79-57), Western New Mexico (80-46), 14^th-ranked West Texas A&M (66-61), Eastern New Mexico (75-71), Cameron (79-70) and Texas Woman's (72-62).
 
The Maroon and Gold average 74.5 points per game at Ligon compared to 63.0 on the road. Defensively MSU Texas is allowing 57.0 points per game at home and 70.8 in road contests.
 
The six-game home winning streak by MSU Texas is the longest since the 2014-15 team won seven-straight from Nov. 18 to Jan. 7.
