WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Fighting for their playoff lives, Midwestern State begins a home and home with Texas Woman's University on Friday night inside D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is 7 p.m.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Texas Woman's University owns a 32-16 edge over Midwestern State and has won 15 of the last 16 meetings. MSU's only win since 2010 came in September of 2017, a 3-0 victory in Wichita Falls.
 
ACE IN THE HOLE
MSU has recorded at least one ace in all but one match this season and registered a season-high 12 in the season opener. Freshman Kaitlyn Masseth leads the Maroon and Gold with 32 service aces this season.
 
GOING THE DISTANCE
Last Saturday's five set loss to Lubbock Christian dropped the Mustangs to 2-4 in matches that go five sets. Last season, MSU went 2-1 in matches that went the distance.

PLAYOFF PUSH
The Mustangs sit in fourth place in their division, with the top four teams making the Lone Star Conference postseason. MSU is 2-4 within the division while Cameron is 1-7. UT Tyler is 2-6 but the Patriots are ineligible for the postseason as they complete the transition into Division II.
 
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Texas Woman's University has dropped back-to-back matches after being swept by No. 18 Angelo State on November 2. Tabitha Spray has recorded a season-high 200 kills for the Pioneers while Katy Ranes has handed out 484 assists, good for 11th most in the Lone Star Conference. 
 
COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
