SERIES HISTORY
The two teams met for the first time on September 21, with the Lions coming away with a 3-1 win. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools in Wichita Falls.
ANDERSON'S AWESOME NIGHT
Taylor Anderson recorded a season-high 10 kills while hitting .500 on November 9 against Texas Woman's University. It was the most kills for the sophomore since she recorded 10 against Cameron on October 30, 2018.
STUCK IN A SLIDE
Midwestern State is mired in a five match losing streak and has dropped seven consecutive sets. Prior to the losing streak, the Mustangs had won four of five.
PLAYOFF POSITIONING
Midwestern State sits in fourth place in their division, with the top four teams qualifying for the Lone Star Conference Tournament. The Mustangs are 2-6 in the division and hold a one game edge on Cameron. The two teams will meet on November 16 in Wichita Falls.
COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Arkansas-Fort Smith has rattled off nine straight wins after suffering their only conference loss of the season to Texas A&M-Commerce on October 12. During the winning streak, the Lions have been pushed to more than four sets just once. Anna Demmer has recorded 337 kills (3.59 kills/set) while Amanda Van Wyk's 946 assists are second in the Lone Star Conference. She leads the LSC with 10.06 assists/set.
