CANYON, Texas– For the first time since September 26, No. 13 Midwestern State takes the pitch following a loss as the Mustangs battle West Texas A&M on Thursday night. Match time is 7:00 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
MSU holds a 34-18-4 edge in the series between the two longtime rivals and earlier this season, defeated then No. 4 West Texas A&M, 3-0. The Mustangs have posted a 10-1-1 mark over the last 12 meetings, including a perfect 4-0 mark in Canyon.
 
MAGIC MEIKE
Hikaruhito Meike extended his point streak to five games with a goal and an assist against St. Mary's. Meike has five goals and two assists during the streak and has scored at least one goal in four of his last five games.
 
ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END
Sebastian Venegas' seven match point streak was snapped in Saturday's loss to St. Mary's. During the streak, the redshirt junior recorded five goals and four assists.
 
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
The Maroon and Gold have scored 2+ goals in each of their last eight games. The Mustangs are 7-1 during the stretch and have outscored their opponents 28-7.
 
EXTRA, EXTRA
Midwestern State has played in back-to-back double overtime games. This mark the first time since last season's conference and NCAA playoffs that the Mustangs have had consecutive games go at least two overtimes.
 
IN THE RANKINGS
Midwestern State slid eight spots to No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll that was released on Tuesday. The Mustangs have appeared in the last 60 USC rankings as a ranked side dating back to the 2014 season and have received votes in the last 72 rankings dating back to 2013.
 
A MINUTE WITH MEACHUM
Michael Meachum kicked off his second year as Head Coach at Midwestern State with a 2-0 win over Dixie State on September 5 at Stang Park. Meachum posted a 16-1-3 mark in his first season at the helm.
 
SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES
West Texas A&M bested Dallas Baptist, 2-1 in double overtime on Saturday but has dropped four of their last six games after opening the season 4-1-1. Kenny Brown paces the Buffaloes with four goals and eight points. WTAMU fell to Midwestern State 3-0 in late September.
