SERIES HISTORY
Texas A&M-Kingsville leads the series 24-11. The Javelinas have won 10-straight meetings. MSU's last win in the series came on November 14, 2013 in Wichita Falls (3-0).
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
MSU hit a team best .369 in Tuesday's sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State. It marked the first time the Mustangs hit over .300 as a team since November 11, 2017 against Cameron, a span of 47 matches. Prior to Tuesday night, the Mustangs' best hitting percentage of the year was .259 against Western State (Colorado), which came in the season opener.
SWEET LIKE HONEY(CUTT)
Lauren Honeycutt blasted 10 kills and hit a career-high .615 in Tuesday night's sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State. The sophomore collected all three set points and added four blocks.
SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
Texas A&M-Kingsville was swept by Arkansas-Fort Smith last Saturday to halt their mini two-game win streak. Melanie Casteel leads the Javelinas with 189 kills (2.82 kills/set) while Emily North has dished out 422 assists, good for seventh most in the Lone Star Conference.
COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
