SERIES HISTORY
MSU kicked off the series with a 3-1 win over UT Tyler earlier this year. The Patriots joined the Lone Star Conference prior to the 2019-2020 season and were approved in July to move into the second year of the NCAA Division II Membership Process (Transitioning from NCAA Division III).
CLUTCH CHAPMAN
Janiya Chapman recorded her first double-double of the season last Saturday to lead the Mustangs to a 3-1 win over Western New Mexico. The freshman set season highs in kills (14) and digs (11) while tying a season high with three blocks.
GLAWE'S GREAT HANDS
Sarah Glawe collected 21 assists and 11 digs to help Midwestern State to a 3-1 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday. In three matches last week, Glawe twice posted 20+ assists. The junior sits 11th in the Lone Star Conference with 340 helpers.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
UT Tyler enters Friday's match at 8-8 on the season after a thrilling 3-2 win over Cameron last Saturday. The Patriots are 3-5 in their first season in the Lone Star Conference and fell to the Mustangs 3-1 in Wichita Falls earlier this year. UTT's Kylee Becker has registered 166 kills (2.96 kills/set) and is hitting .229. Hattie Murray has a team-high 43 blocks.
COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
