SERIES HISTORY
The Mustangs lead the series 12-6 but have dropped each of the last two matches in straight sets. Prior to the two losses, MSU rattled off four straight 3-0 wins.
PRESLEY PACKS A PUNCH
Raven Presley smashed seven kills in the first set against Southern Nazarene on Tuesday night while hitting an eye popping .875. The junior added a kill in the second set before departing with an injury.
EAKIN'S GOT HOPS
Sarah Eakin continued her strong net presence against the Crimson Storm of Sothern Nazarene, recording six blocks. The Wichita Falls native has collected at least six blocks in three of the Mustangs' last five matches.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
UT Permian Basin has been one of the surprises of the season in the Lone Star Conference. Two years removed from a 25 loss campaign, the Falcons are 12-3 and in position to finish above .500 for the first time since 2011. Coach Tim Loesch's squad has won back-to-back 3-0 matches, continuing a trend started in the season opener as 10 of the Falcons' 12 wins have come in straight sets. UT Permian Basin hits .195 as a team while holding opponents to a .119 kill rate.
COACH'S CORNER
Valerie Armstrong began her second season as Head Coach of the Midwestern State Volleyball team with a thrilling five-set win over Western State (Colorado) on September 6. In her first season at the helm, the Mustangs posted a 5-23 record and a 3-17 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
