WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Tarleton State's McKinley Bostad and Mackenzie Hailey each scored at least 20 points as the TexAnns shot 52.0 percent in an 80-68 win over Midwestern State on Saturday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
Tarleton State improves to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in Lone Star Conference play while the Mustangs fall to 3-8 and 0-4 in league action.
Bostad netted 24 points with 17 in the first half on 9-of-14 shooting while Hailey dropped 14 after the break to finish with 22. The duo combined for 46 points and 18 of the team's 26 made field goals in the contest.
The TexAnns flustered the Maroon and Gold defensively, forcing 20 turnovers and converting those miscues into 23 points while owning a 22-8 edge in the fast break. The Mustangs surrendered the most points and highest field goal percentage of the season.
Senior
Chelcie Kizart matched a career-best for the second time in the last three outings while scoring in double figures for the fifth time this season. The St. Paul, Minn., native scored 17 points and going 4-of-6 from beyond the arc with six rebounds and three assists.
Sophomore
Hannah Reynolds added 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. The Prosper native rejected three shots in the fourth quarter.
Juniors
Mica Schneider and
Erin Alexander each added 10 points for the Maroon and Gold.
Tarleton State shot 55.6 percent in the first half to build a 46-32 lead over the Mustangs behind Bostad's 17 points.

- Midwestern State lost its sixth-straight Lone Star Conference contest dating back to last season
- The Mustangs surrendered a season-high 52.0 shooting percentage while the 80 points allowed tied the most given up this season, matching the Nov. 29 contest against Eastern New Mexico
