WICHITA FALLS, Texas – West Texas A&M closed the first half on a 19-2 run and buried eight first half 3-pointers to capture an 87-62 win over Midwestern State on Thursday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The 11
th-ranked Buffs claimed their sixth straight in the series and handed the Mustangs their fourth-straight loss.
Four players finished in double figures for WT led by 21 from Brandon Hall. Ryan Quaid added 16 points and eight rebounds while Jordan Collins hit four 3-pointers for 14 points. Gach Gach capped the Buffs with 12 points.
The Buffs went 5-for-5 from the floor and 4-of-4 from 3-point range over the final 3:43 of the first half. Jordan Collins hit the first three 3-pointers on the run for the Buffs to string together a 17-0 run after MSU Texas briefly took a 28-26 lead.
The Mustangs were unable to cut into the lead in the second half, trailing by as many as 31 with 4:04 remaining.
Junior
Bishop Coulter recorded his first career double-double on a season high 11 rebounds. The Atoka, Okla., native led the Maroon and Gold with 14 points and connected on a pair of 3-pointers.

Gilbert Thomas, Jr., added 14 points and eight rebounds, scoring in double figures for the fourth-straight game.
Senior
JaJuan Starks poured in 10 for his 14
th game in double digits.
