THE OPPONENT: Angelo State had a two-game winning streak snapped in a 68-62 loss to Cameron Thursday at Junell Center... The Rams have won five of seven games since returning from Christmas break with home losses to West Texas A&M and Cameron... LAST TIME OUT: Texas A&M-KIngsville went on an extended 25-4 run during a 9-minute, 56-second field goal drought to take a 10-point halftime lead on the way to a 65-53 win over Midwestern State. The Mustangs scored 16 of the first 18 games in the game before suffering through the spell. The Javelinas controlled a 30-9 edge in points off of turnovers and a 27-11 advantage in second-chance points. Junior forward Bishop Coulter (12 points, 6 rebounds), junior forward Gilbert Thomas (11 points, 5 rebounds) and freshman guard Terrell Wilson (10 points) tallied in double figures for the Mustangs.
 
HAGGERTY CLAIMS 150TH WIN: Midwestern State boasts a 152-80 mark (.655) in Nelson Haggerty's eighth season as head coach. He has led the Mustangs to the NCAA postseason in five of his seven seasons including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2012 and four LSC championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Haggerty claimed his second LSC Coach of the Year award in 2016 sharing honors with former Cameron coach Nate Gamet. He also claimed the honor in 2012.

TRENDS: Midwestern State dropped to 2-7 away from D.L. Ligon Coliseum with a 65-53 loss Thursday at Texas A&M-Kingsville incluidng a 1-5 record in true road games... The Mustangs have lost five consecutive road games for the third straight year...
