Storylines
Dome Magic
The Mustangs return to the friendly confines of D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Friday as MSU Texas looks to create some home magic for the 2018 campaign. The Maroon and Gold were 7-5 on its home court in 2017 and swept both Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M in the home meetings.

There Are Youths Everywhere
Of the 12 players to see action in the first two tournaments to open the season, 10 are underclassmen, including six freshmen. Juniors Sarah Eakin and Erin Richburg are the lone upperclassmen on the roster. MSU freshmen are responsible for 54 percent of all the team's kills and 34 percent of the total digs. Additionally, underclassmen have contributed 265 of the team's 368 total points.

Amazing Addy
Redshirt freshman Addy Cook was named to the All-Tournament team at the Tarleton Invitational after a slew of dominant performances. The Bowie native is averaging 3.00 kills per set, including a 20-kill outburst and a double-double in MSU Texas' upset of 16th-ranked Central Oklahoma. Cook also did damage from the service line, posting six aces, including three against Black Hills State.

Throwing a Block Party
The Mustangs are averaging 1.7 blocks per set after the first two weekends of play. Junior Sarah Eakin anchors the defense with 1.04 blocks per set, including five solo blocks while freshmen Natalie Fruend and Lauren Honeycutt average 0.69 and 0.63 blocks per set, respectively.

Acing the Class
In each of MSU Texas' two wins this season, the Mustangs have been strong from the service line, averaging 9.5 aces in winning efforts. Junior Erin Richburg leads the team with 14 aces, including a pair of matches with four or more aces. Glawe and Cook closely follow with nine and eight, respectively.
