WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State hits the road for its first Lone Star Conference road trip of the season. The Mustangs travel to UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico on Friday and Saturday, respectively. MSU Texas aims to snap a seven-match losing streak at 6 p.m. on Friday in Odessa.

Shot of Youth
Of the 12 players to see action through the first 10 matches of the season, 10 are underclassmen, including six freshmen. Juniors 
Sarah Eakin and 
Erin Richburg are the lone upperclassmen on the roster. MSU Texas freshmen are responsible for 52 percent of all the team's kills, 48 percent of the team's points and 31 percent of the total digs. Additionally, underclassmen have contributed 313 of the team's 448 total points.
 
Throwing a Block Party
The Mustangs are averaging 1.9 blocks per set nearing the midway point of the regular season. Junior 
Sarah Eakin anchors the defense with 1.06 blocks per set, including six solo blocks while freshman 
Lauren Honeycutt (0.67), sophomore 
Raven Presley (0.65) and freshman 
Natalie Fruend (0.60) average better than a half block per set.
 
Eakin and Presley Among Program's Best
Junior 
Sarah Eakin and sophomore 
Raven Presley are among the best blockers in program history. Eakin ranks third in MSU Texas history with 0.99 blocks per set, followed closely by Presley with a 0.97 career average.
 
The duo is chasing former standout Lauren Bayer (2009-10) who averaged 1.14 blocks per set in two seasons in the Maroon and Gold.
 
Acing the Class
In each of MSU Texas' two wins this season, the Mustangs have been strong from the service line, averaging 9.5 aces in winning efforts. Junior 
Erin Richburg leads the team with 14 aces, including a pair of matches with four or more aces. Glawe and Cook closely follow with nine and eight, respectively.
