MUSTANGS NOTES

FIRST SERVE: No. 18 Midwestern State puts its eight-match winning streak on the line when it returns to the MSU Tennis Center for a pair of matches this weekend. The Mustangs play host to top-ranked Tyler Junior College on Friday at 2 p.m. before jumping back into Lone Star Conference play on Saturday against Western New Mexico at 9 a.m.

MUSTANGS RESUME LSC PLAY: The Mustangs improved to 2-1 in league play with a 7-2 rout of Tarleton State on Tuesday. After dueling Western New Mexico on Saturday, MSU closes out LSC play with matches on Wednesday and Friday against Cameron and UT Permian Basin, respectively.

A DOUBLES SWEEP: Midwestern State swept doubles in each of its last eight matches – all wins. Further, each of the Mustangs' 12 team victories this season are credited, in part, by a sweep in doubles play. MSU sports an impressive 45-6 mark this season including a 14-3 mark at the No. 1line, 16-1 at No. 2 and 15-2 at No. 3. Junior Greta Lazzarotto and sophomore Bianca Duff own a 15-match win streak at No. 2, while senior Daria Panferova and freshman Maddie Rowe have won 12 straight at No. 3. Junior Maddy Coffman and sophomore Ashley Ramirez, who are ranked eighth in the ITA Doubles national rankings, have won eight consecutive matchups at No. 1.

#MADDOG: Senior Maddy Coffman slid to 51st in the ITA NCAA Division II singles rankings, posting an 11-5 mark from the No. 1 line this season. Only Alex Odell-Mechels (15 wins in 2009), teammate Daria Panferova (14 wins in 2017) and Maddie Schorlemmer (13 wins in 2016) own more wins at No. 1 singles. Coffman has posted a combined 71-16 mark (.816) in her two seasons at MSU after playing her freshman year at Dallas Baptist.

#BINGO: Sophomore Bianca Duff moved into the ITA NCAA Division II singles rankings at No. 67 and was named the Lone Star Conference's Player of the Week after going a combined 8-0 last week. The Geelong, Australia native has won her last four and eight of her last 10 singles matches. She has combined mark of 68-17 (.800) over the past two years including a 40-5 doubles mark. She is 26-0 playing at No. 2 doubles.

GRETA THE GREAT: Junior Greta Lazzarotto became the 11th member of the 100-Win Club earlier this season and now owns 41 singles wins and 64 doubles victories for a total of 105. The Italian's .877 career doubles winning percentage is the second-best in program history, behind only teammate Bianca Duff.

DASHING TO VICTORY: Lone senior Daria Panferova has battled through injury to turn in exceptional results this season. She has strung together 10 consecutive victories at No. 3 singles and has combined with freshman Maddie Rowe for a perfect 12-0 mark at No. 3 doubles.
