LAS VEGAS – No. 12-ranked Midwestern State picked up a 6-3 win over Rollins here Monday afternoon. Junior Maddy Coffman clinched the match for the Mustangs claiming for her fifth-straight victory at the No. 1 spot.
 
The Mustangs improve to 3-4 on the season and continue play tomorrow against Hawaii-Hilo at the Darling Tennis Center.
 
The Maroon and Gold swept the doubles from the Tars to build a 3-0 lead heading into singles. The MSU duo of Daria Panferova and Maddie Rowe cruised to an 8-1 victory over Savanna Fuller and Marie Debruyn at the No. 3 line to get the Mustangs on the board. The tandem of Maddy Coffman and Ashley Ramirez improved to 4-1 on the year, taking down Fabiana Vitanza and Alexandra Borg, 8-3, at the No. 1 flight. Bianca Duff and Greta Lazzarotto secured the sweep with an 8-6 victory against Teresa Kaiser and Katie Dyson at No. 2.
 
Rollins pulled closer early in singles, winning on two of the first three courts to tighten the match. Duff fell to Borg, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 2 while Fuller bested Lazzarotto, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5. Sandwiched between those to setbacks, MSU's 20th-ranked Panferova took down Dyson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 to pull the Mustangs within a point of clinching.
 
After splitting the first two sets, Coffman rallied late to knock off Vitanza, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 1 to secure the win for the Maroon and Gold. The Flower Mound product improved to 6-1 on the year.
 
The Mustangs added another win by Ramirez at the No. 4 line.
