WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

OUT FOR REVENGE: The Mustangs wrap up a crucial four-game homestand in sixth place in the Lone Star Conference standings. Midwestern State was tripped up by the then second-ranked Lady Buffs in Canyon, 64-46. Freshman forward Hannah Reynolds had 11 points and six rebounds in the first meeting with WT this season.

TAYLOR EYEING RECORD BOOK: Senior guard Whitney Taylor leads MSU with 10.7 points per game on 33.8 percent shooting. The Melissa native is the 18th-leading scorer in the LSC and needs four more triples to break former teammate Lisa Hampton's (154 3s/2011-15) all-time record. Taylor needs 98 points to eclipse 1,000 in her career.

CATHCART SHINES IN RETURN FROM INJURY: Sophomore forward Liz Cathcart went for a season-high 14 points and seven rebounds in her first action since Dec. 7 against the Falcons on Saturday. The Spring Branch product went 5-for-8 from the field and scored eight of her 14 points in the second half and overtime.

REBOUNDING MACHINE: Senior forward Micheline Mercelita tallied her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds against the Falcons. The Edinburg native has gone for 10 rebounds in four of the last six games and has at least 15 boards in three of those outings.

FINDING A RHTHYM: Prior to West Texas A&M's most recent four-game winning streak, the Lady Buffs were reeling since the last head-to-head meeting with MSU, going 1-4 with losses to Angelo State, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Commerce and Eastern New Mexico. Lexy Hightower leads the way for WT, scoring at a 14.5 points per game clip and shooting 43.7 percent from distance.
