WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

OUT FOR REVENGE: The Mustangs continue a crucial four-game homestand, in sixth place in the Lone Star Conference standings. Midwestern State was tripped up by the Falcons in the meeting earlier this season in Odessa, 59-57. MSU had a chance to force overtime down three with senior guard Whitney Taylor going to the free throw line, but the Melissa native converted on one-of-three shots from the charity stripe.

TAYLOR EYEING RECORD BOOK: Senior guard Whitney Taylor leads MSU with 10.8 points per game on 34.2 percent shooting. The Melissa native is the 18th-leading scorer in the LSC and needs seven more triples to break former teammate Lisa Hampton's (154 3s/2011-15) all-time record. Taylor needs seven points to eclipse 900 in her career.

RYDELL PUTTING ON A SHOW: Senior guard Kristin Rydell is coming off a season-high 19 point outburst against Angelo State last weekend, going for four three-pointers in the setback. Over the last five games, the Hutto product is averaging 12.6 points on 46.0 percent shooting with 12 made treys. Defensively, Rydell has 10 of her 18 steals on the season during that stretch, including a season-high three against the Rambelles.

REBOUNDING MACHINE: Senior forward Micheline Mercelita pulled down her 200th-career rebound in the setback to Angelo State last weekend. In the last five games, the Edinburg native has three games with at least 15 boards, including a season-high 20 against Texas Woman's on Jan. 18.

NOT FLYING SO HIGH: UTPB has lost seven of the last eight games, including three-straight after beating Western New Mexico on Jan. 25. Khali Pippins-Tryon leads the Falcons with 12.8 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting.
