Storylines
Cannistra Owns Pioneers
Sophomore Kelly Cannistra played a part in all three scores in the Mustangs 3-2 win over the Pioneers at home last season, including the game winner in the 58th minute. The Gilbert, Ariz., native logged assists to Destinee Williamson and Julia Orozco for a career-high four points in the win.

Robinson Tames the Lions
Senior Taylor Robinson scored in the 10th minute last season at Texas A&M-Commerce as MSU Texas swept the season series for the first time since 2012 with a 2-1 and 1-0 victory against the Lions.

Freshmen Leading the Way
Freshmen Senna Garcia (3 goals), Emma Baley (3 assists) and Samantha Upton (1.86 GAA) currently lead the team in goals, assists and goals against average, respectively. The last time a freshman trio led MSU Texas in those three categories was 1995, the inaugural season of the program. Becky Athey (21 goals), Jennifer Fisher (5 assists) and Sara Fusco (2.10 GAA) led the then-Indians to a 9-10-0 record.

Garcia, Baley and Upton join sophomore Heather Vanderloo as the lone players to start all nine games this season.

Hometown Hero
Wichita Falls native Emma Baley has made the most of her opportunity of playing in front of the home fans in her frosh campaign. The Rider HS product anchors a back line that is surrendering 1.25 goals at home, compared to a 1.80 mark on the road.

Additionally, Baley ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference with four assists this season.

Upton Among LSC's Best
Freshman keeper Samantha Upton ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference with 41 saves this season. The Rowlett native boasts a .719 save percentage and a 1.86 goals against average while starting all nine matches between the pipes this season.
