Storylines
Heating Up
Midwestern State started hot in a 3-1 loss to Texas Woman's on Tuesday. Erin Richburg, Raven Presley and Lauren Honeycutt tallied double-digit kills in the setback.

Conference Outlook
MSU Texas trails Eastern New Mexico by 2.5 games for the final spot in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament with four matches to play. The Mustangs travel to Tarleton State and Angelo State this weekend, Cameron in the midweek and Texas A&M-Kingsville to close out the regular season while ENMU hosts TAMK, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's.

Building Blocks
The 16.0 blocks by the Mustangs in the 3-0 loss to UTPB matched the second-most in program history and fifth-most in an NCAA Division II three-set match this season. MSU Texas lost all three sets to the Falcons by two points. Junior Sarah Eakin set a career-high with the fifth-most blocks in a three-set match, tallying eight rejections including four of the solo variety.

Manio Digging For Gold
Freshman libero Samantha Manio recorded her 200th dig of the season in the loss to UTPB on Saturday. The Allen native has produced double-digit digs in 10 of her last 12 matches, including a season-high of 25 in the five set win over Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 13. The freshman has proved to be a weapon from the service line of late, going for six aces in the last five matches with a season-best three against WNMU.

Setting Sarah
Sophomore setter Sarah Glawe climbed past Taryn Westerman (2010-11) for the 12th most assists in program history on Saturday. At 894 career dimes, the Allen native is 480 away from Kimberly Jeffrey's (2009-11) 11th place mark of 1,374.

Glawe's career 7.21 assists per set is the 10th best in school history. She trails Sarah Rosinke's ninth place record of 7.31 assists per set.

Block Party
Junior Sarah Eakin anchored the middle of the defense for the Mustangs with 17 blocks this week. Eakin matched a season-high with seven rejections against WNMU before breaking her own mark with eight against UTPB.

Her eight blocks against UTPB matched the fifth most in a three-set match in school history while her seven in the match with WNMU tied the 10th most in a three set contest.

Eakin's LSC leading 24 solo blocks and 81 assisted blocks each rank 15th on the MSU Texas single season list while her 105 total blocks rank 14th all-time.

The junior's 1.28 blocks per set this season would be a new program record and is the second-best in the LSC this year as well as the 15th best in NCAA DII. Eakin has tallied seven or more blocks in five matches this season, including four of the last six outings.

Hammerin' Honeycutt
Freshman Lauren Honeycutt surpassed a milestone of her own on Saturday, eclipsing 100 kills in her first season in the Maroon and Gold. The Round Rock native has at least six kills in six of the last eight matches, adding in a season-best of 13 in the 3-1 win over Cameron on Oct. 2. She put down 10 kills on 26 swings Tuesday against the Pioneers.

Rich Get Richer
Junior Erin Richburg needs 70 kills to join the 500 kill/500 dig club with MSU Texas after earning her 500th career dig in Tuesday's match against TWU. The Rowlett native has 11 matches with at least 10 kills this season, adding on six double-doubles.
