WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State closes out its home regular season slate for the 2018 season this weekend, battling UT Permian Basin and Angelo State on Friday and Sunday at Stang Park. The Mustangs honor seniors Brandy Villasana and Taylor Robinson at Sunday's match.

Storylines
Mustangs Blank Falcons for Season's First Clean Sheet
Senna Garcia, Tayler Schott and Heather Vanderloo scored second half goals as the Maroon and Gold earned their first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over UT Permian Basin on Sept. 23. Defensively, the Mustangs held the Falcons to one shot on goal – a meager attempt in the 88th minute – as Samantha Upton earned her first career clean sheet.

Rambelles Rally Past MSU Texas
Avery Lewis scored her second goal of the season, but a quick response from ASU and an early second half goal set the Mustangs back in a 2-1 ASU win on Sept. 21.

Seniors Take the Pitch the Final Time
Brandy Villasana and Taylor Robinson will take to their home pitch the final time on Sunday. Robinson has appeared in 64 career matches, making 36 starts with three goals and two assists while Villasana has made 33 appearances and 12 starts since transferring from Central Baptist.

Chance to Clinch
West Texas A&M leads the LSC with 22 points and a 7-0-1 record, followed closely by Angelo State (6-2-1) with 19 points.

Texas Woman's (4-2-2), Eastern New Mexico (4-3-1) and Texas A&M-Commerce (4-4-0) sit at Nos. 3-5, separated by two points.

MSU Texas is currently sixth, leading UTPB by four points. A win on Friday paired with a MSU Texas win or UTPB loss on Sunday clinches a berth in the LSC Tournament for the Mustangs.

No Learning Curve Required
Senna Garcia and Emma Baley lead the team with three goals and three assists, respectively. The freshmen duo are the only players to have started all 13 contests for the Mustangs.

Up Next
MSU Texas travels to Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's for the final weekend of the regular season on Oct. 26.
