WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 3 Midwestern State returns to Stang Park on Thursday for a weekend home stand against Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M. Kickoff against the Greyhounds is tabbed for 7 p.m. while Saturday's meeting with the Buffs is slotted for 1 p.m.
 
Storylines
Like the Energizer Bunny
The Mustangs surpassed the previous program record of 26-consecutive matches without a loss by taking down Rogers State on Sept. 13 and ran the streak to 34 in a 4-1 rout of Oklahoma Christian. MSU Texas became the seventh team in NCAA Division II history to go at least 34 matches without suffering a loss and first since Southern New Hampshire's 37-match streak ended in 2014.
 
The Maroon and Gold matched Tampa for the fifth-longest streak in NCAA DII history. The Spartans previously went 34 matches without taking a loss twice (9/81 – 11/3/82 & 9/28/94 – 11/3/95). MSU Texas can match Southern Connecticut State for the fourth and fifth longest streaks this weekend.

The Maroon and Gold are unbeaten in their last 20 matches at the friendly confines of Stang Park, dating back to 2016. Over that span, MSU Texas owns a 17-0-3 record and has outscored opponents 41-11 at home.
 
Sharing The Wealth
MSU Texas boasts the 13th most potent offense in NCAA DII and second best in the Heartland Conference, averaging 2.82 goals per game.
 
The Mustangs have been balanced offensively with 14 different players combining for 30 goals this season. Additionally, nine different players have contributed assists, including Sergio Lara, Juan Ramirez, Dylan Burke and Carlos Flores who all lead the team with three.
 
A huge part of the offensive success can be attributed to scoring off set pieces. MSU Texas leads the nation with 8.27 corner kicks per game.
 
Suffocating Defense
In 11 matches this season, the back line of the Mustangs has surrendered just 28 shots on goal in 1,018 minutes of action.
 
Seniors Nathan Clark and Alex Mullet, juniors Dylan Burke, Rory O'Keeffe and Koby Sapon-Amoah along with sophomore keeper Taylor Lampe are holding opponents to a 0.80 GAA.
 
Lampe Leading the Country
Sophomore keeper Taylor Lampe leads all active NCAA DII players with a 0.576 career goals against average. In two seasons, Lampe ranks No. 6 in program history with 20 wins.
