• Midwestern State gears up for its second weekend of action in the 2017 season Friday and Saturday as the Mustangs travel to Austin for the Hilltopper Classic
• The Mustangs will face three opponents over the two-day event in Black Hills State (S.D.), host St. Edward's and Southern Arkansas
• MSU posted a 2-2 record last weekend at the season-opening Tarleton Invitational in Stephenville with wins over Maryville (Mo.) (3-0) and Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (3-1) and setbacks to No. 23 Rockhurst (Mo.) (3-0) and No. 18 Central Oklahoma (3-1)
• Senior outside hitter Meghan Bettis led the Mustangs with 2.29 kills per set to finish with a total of 32 over four matches last weekend
• The Mustangs offense was also supported by senior middle blocker Addison Semer (29 kills), freshman middle blocker Raven Presley (26 kills), junior outside hitter Rockelle Gholson (24 kills), freshman outside hitter Addy Cook (20 kills) and sophomore right side hitter Sarah Eakin (19 kills)
• Senior setter Kristan Aduddell paced the MSU offense with 10 assists per set with a match-high 53 coming against No. 18 Central Oklahoma on Saturday
• Making her first career start at libero last weekend, senior Aerielle Edwards averaged 4.36 digs per set over four matches while posting a career-best 26 digs against UCO
• The Mustangs will kickoff the Hilltopper Classic with their first-ever meeting with Black Hills State Friday as the Yellow Jackets come in with a 1-3 record
• MSU follows up against a 3-1 St. Edward's team in its Friday finale with the teams splitting their two meetings last season in Wichita Falls
• Midwestern closes out the weekend with a single match Saturday against Southern Arkansas, a team coming in with a 3-4 mark on the season
