  • After putting together one of the best seasons in program history a season ago, Midwestern State opens up the 2017 campaign inside the friendly confines of Stang Park with a pair of weekend matches against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) foes
  • MSU and Regis (Colo.) will face off in the season opener for the third time with the Rangers holding a 4-1-1 record against the Mustangs in the all-time series following a 2-2 draw last season in Denver, Colo.
  • The Rangers posted an 8-8-3 overall finish in 2016 while advancing to the second round of the RMAC Tournament
  • The Mustangs are 3-1-1 against nationally-ranked opponents in the opening weekend of the season as 6th-ranked Colorado School of Mines comes into town as the first top 10 team to play at Stang Park since No. 5 Angelo State on Oct. 9, 2015
  • The Orediggers are coming off a 20-3-1 season after advancing to the NCAA II National Quarterfinals
  • Midwestern State returns 12 letterwinners and four starters off last season's LSC Tournament champion and regional semifinalist team, matching the best postseason finish in school history with a 13-6-4 record
  • The Mustangs were picked to finish third in the Lone Star Conference race with senior striker Destinee Williamson being named the LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year
  • MSU also features returners in senior goalkeeper Courtney Burnette, a 2016 All-LSC First Team honoree, and sophomore defenders Sarah Stewart and Adrianna Smith
  • The Mustangs squad welcomes a slew of newcomers this season with 13 fresh faces, the most for the program since the 2013 season
  • Head coach Damian Clarke begins his fourth season at the helm of the program after guiding the Maroon and Gold to three-straight winning campaigns
