WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Coming off its 10th-straight win Saturday, 15th-ranked Midwestern State begins a five-match road stretch to close out the regular season this week beginning with a pair of matches against long-time rivals in No. 24 Cameron and Division I Abilene Christian.
 
The Mustangs open the week Monday with a top-25 Lone Star Conference showdown against Cameron at 2 p.m. at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex in Lawton, Okla. Midwestern State then travels south for a 5 p.m. battle against former conference rival Abilene Christian Wednesday at the Eager Tennis Center in Abilene.

LAST TIME OUT
- Midwestern State closed out its regular season home slate with a perfect 10-0 record after wins over Collin College (Texas), Seward County (Kan.) and Southern Nazarene (Okla.) last weekend
- The Mustangs tied for the most home wins in a single season alongside the 2013 and 2014 teams while finishing their eighth undefeated regular season at home in program history

MSU COMES IN AT NO. 2 IN FIRST SET OF NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
- Midwestern State appeared at No. 2 in the first set of South Central Region rankings released by the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Committee Wednesday afternoon
- The 15th-ranked Mustangs come in behind No. 12 St. Mary's while appearing in front of No. 43 Dallas Baptist, Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.)
- The top four teams from the region will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the top two teams serving as hosts for opening round action May 1-2 at their campus sites
- Two teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Championship site to compete for a national title, May 10-13, at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
 
MUSTANGS CLIMB TO 15TH IN NATIONAL POLL
- The Mustangs achieved their fourth-highest national ranking in program history on Mar. 22, jumping six spots to No. 15 in the Oracle/ITA Women's Division II national poll
- The top-15 ranking is the fourth for the program in the last three seasons, earning a program-best ranking of 13th at the conclusion of the 2015 season that included a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight and back-to-back rankings of No. 14 during the 2015 season

A LOOK AT THE MUSTANGS
- Midwestern State enters the week with a 16-3 overall record and sits atop the Lone Star Conference standings with Cameron at 2-0
- MSU's 10-match win streak ties for the second longest in program history with the Mustangs winning 14 in a row in 2014 and 10 straight in 2013
- The Mustangs sport three players in the top 10 in the regional singles rankings in Daria Panferova (5th), Bianca Duff (7th) and Eirini Kontaki (9th)
- At the No. 1 position, Panferova boasts a 12-6 record with a team-best six wins over regionally-ranked players this season
- Duff carries a 14-5 mark on the season including a 12-2 record at No. 3 singles with two wins against the region's top-20 players
- Kontaki has recorded a 13-5 overall record with three wins over regionally-ranked foes playing line two for the Mustangs
- The Mustangs have been near unstoppable at the bottom of the lineup as of late with all three players carrying at least a nine-match win streak
Maddy Coffman comes in having won her last 12 matches with a team-best 16-3 record playing at No. 4
- At No. 5 singles, Greta Lazzarotto has won 10 in a row for a 15-3 record, going 10-1 on court five
- Ashley Ramirez has posted a 12-4 mark playing at No. 6 singles in her first collegiate season, winning her last nine matches
- Coffman and Duff are off to the best doubles start in program history with an unblemished 19-0 record now playing at the top position to rank seventh in the South Central Region
- On court three, Lazzarotto and Ramirez have won 10 straight for a 17-2 record while Panferova and Kontaki have won their last four at No. 1 for a 5-1 mark this season

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- Plagued by injuries this season, Cameron has battled to an 11-9 record and national ranking of No. 24
- The Aggies were left off the first set of NCAA regional rankings last week due to having a losing record against Division II teams this season
- CU comes in on a three-match win streak to match its longest of the season
- Zhenia Shviadok ranks 47th in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings with an impressive 18-1 mark at No. 2, having won her last 13 matches
- Paula Gutierrez also cracks the national rankings at No. 50 with a 10-10 mark at the top spot
- In doubles, Shviadok and Mathilde Thibaudat rank 24th in the country with a 14-5 record at No. 1
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Cameron leads the all-time series against Midwestern State, 27-22-1
- The Aggies claimed three wins over MSU last season with wins in the regular season, conference tournament and NCAA Tournament
- Prior to last season, the Mustangs carried a four-match win streak over CU from 2013-15
- The Aggies are 14-11 against MSU in Lawton but the Mustangs have claimed three of the last four meetings in the Sooner State
 
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- Abilene Christian comes in with a 14-5 record this season with a 3-0 mark against Division II teams
- The Wildcats carry an 11-1 mark at home with their lone defeat coming to TCU
- Erin Walker is 11-8 playing No. 1 singles for ACU this season
- Whitney Williams has put together a 12-7 record playing court two while Lucile Pothier is 10-3 overall with an 8-0 mark at No. 3 singles
- Sarah Adams leads ACU with a 15-4 record playing line four while Jordan Henry carries a 13-4 mark at No. 5 and Autumn Crossnoe is 8-4 playing No. 6
- In doubles, Walker and Williams tie for the team lead with 14 wins apiece with Walker and Adams joining together for a 9-1 mark at the top position
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Abilene Christian holds a commanding 34-2 lead in the all-time series versus Midwestern State
- The Wildcats have won 33 straight with MSU's only wins in the series both coming in 1980 in the first and third meetings between the two teams
 
UP NEXT 
- Midwestern State continues its road trip against LSC foes this weekend with a Friday meeting with UT Permian Basin and a Saturday matchup against Western New Mexico
