WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State hosts its fourth postseason match in program history Monday as the No. 2 seed Mustangs face off against No. 3 Dallas Baptist in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at the MSU Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. 
 
The 15th-ranked Mustangs earned an automatic bid into their fifth-straight and 17th overall NCAA Tournament after claiming the Lone Star Conference Championship on Apr. 22 in Arlington. The South Central Region's top seed, St. Mary's (Texas), earned the region's other automatic bid with its Heartland Conference title while Dallas Baptist and Tarleton State were at-large selections. St. Mary's meets Tarleton State in its opening round matchup Monday at 2 p.m. in San Antonio.
 
The winners of each of the regional matches will advance to the NCAA Round of 16, May 10-13, at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
 
MSU IN THE POSTSEASON
- Midwestern State has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in all but three seasons since becoming a Division II member in 1997-98
- The Mustangs have advanced to the national championship site five times in program history including three of the last four seasons with trips in 2000, 2005, 2013, 2014 and 2015
- MSU made history in 2015 with the program's first showing in the Elite Eight following a 5-1 rout of No. 12 California (Pa.) in the round of 16 in Surprise, Ariz.
- Midwestern will look to make it back to nationals after falling to Cameron, 5-2, in its regional final match last season in Lawton, Okla.
- The Mustangs carry a 13-11 record in regional postseason play while holding a 14-16 mark in the NCAA Tournament
- MSU is 3-0 in NCAA Tournament matches played at the MSU Tennis Center, hosting in 2013, 2014 and 2015
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Midwestern State holds a 6-1 record against Dallas Baptist in the all-time series
- Monday's matchup will be the first postseason meeting between the two programs
- The Mustangs have won four-straight matches against the Lady Patriots including a 9-0 victory at home on Apr. 4
- DBU tallied its lone win in the series in 2012 with a 5-4 victory in Wichita Falls
- MSU is 2-1 against the Lady Patriots at the MSU Tennis Center
 
MUSTANGS CLIMB TO 15TH IN NATIONAL POLL
- The Mustangs posted their fifth top 15 national ranking on Apr. 26 as MSU remained at No. 15 in the Oracle/ITA Women's Division II poll
- The top-15 ranking is the fifth for the program in the last three seasons, earning a program-best ranking of 13th at the conclusion of the 2015 season and back-to-back rankings of No. 14 during the 2015 season

FOUR MUSTANGS HAUL IN ALL-LSC HONORS
- Midwestern State collected five All-Lone Star Conference honors Thursday with four Mustangs being tabbed to the All-LSC First Team
- Daria Panferova, Eirini Kontaki and Bianca Duff were all named to the All-LSC Singles Team while the trio joined Maddy Coffman on the All-LSC Doubles Team
- Duff was also tabbed the LSC Freshman of the Year, becoming the third Mustang in program history to earn the honor while head coach Scott Linn was named the LSC Coach of the Year, his second coaching honor since receiving the accolade after leading MSU to its first LSC title in 2014

A LOOK AT THE MUSTANGS
- Midwestern State put together one of its best regular seasons in program history with a 21-4 record to tie for the fifth-most victories in a single season
- The Mustangs come in having won 13-straight matches against Division II teams and 15 of their last 16 overall
- MSU has posted a 7-3 record against nationally-ranked programs this season with four wins coming against top-25 teams
- Ranked fifth in the South Central Region, Daria Panferova carries a 14-8 record with six wins over regionally-ranked opponents playing at the top singles position for the Mustangs
- Bianca Duff also cracks the top 10 in the regional rankings at No. 7 with a 17-6 record on court three with all of her wins coming in straight sets this season
- Eirini Kontaki comes in at No. 12 in the region with a team-best four-match win streak for a 17-7 mark playing at line two with three victories over regionally-ranked foes
- At No. 4 singles, Maddy Coffman leads the Mustangs with a 19-4 record, ranking 14th in the record books for most wins in a single season after winning 15 of her last 16 matches
- Greta Lazzarotto follows closely behind with an 18-4 record playing No. 5, claiming 13 of her last 14 matches
- Ashley Ramirez rounds out the singles lineup for MSU with a 16-5 record on court six, winning 13 of her last 14 including the clincher in the LSC Championship match against Tarleton State
- Coffman and Duff carry a program-best 23-2 doubles record on court one for a .920 winning percentage on the year to rank fourth in the South Central Region
- Lazzarotto and Ramirez have also shined in doubles play this season with a 22-3 mark at No. 3
- On court two, Panferova and Kontaki have compiled a 10-2 record to rank 10th in the regional rankings

SCOUTING THE LADY PATRIOTS
- Dallas Baptist is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance following a 15-6 record this season
- The Lady Patriots jumped 19 spots to No. 24 in the national rankings last week
- Skylar McDonald leads DBU with a 17-4 record on court four this season, winning 13 of her last 14 matches with her lone loss coming to Coffman on Apr. 4 in a 6-3, 6-2 defeat
- Liz Slaughter carries a 13-5 mark for the Lady Patriots at No. 5 singles
- Ana Marija Banic ranks 10th in the South Central Region with an 11-9 record at the top position for DBU
- Lacey Sprinkel follows with a No. 14 regional ranking, also carrying an 11-9 mark on court two
- Mikayla Rinker comes in with an 11-8 record and No. 20 regional ranking playing No. 3 for the Lady Patriots
- At No. 6, Bianca Tijerina rounds out the DBU lineup with a 12-7 record
- In doubles, the duo of Banic and Sprinkel rank fifth in the region with an 11-7 mark at No. 1
- The Lady Patriots have played a different doubles lineup the last two matches with Banic teaming up with Rinker at No. 1, McDonald and Slaughter at No. 2 and Sprinkel and Michelle Zarate at No. 3
