ABILENE, Texas – Midwestern State saw its 11-match win streak come to an end Wednesday evening as the 15th-ranked Mustangs fell 7-0 to former conference foe and Division I Abilene Christian at the Eager Tennis Center.

Abilene Christian (15-5) earned the doubles point with wins on courts one and two before Greta Lazzarotto and Ashley Ramirez recorded Midwestern State's (17-4) lone win of the night with a 6-4 victory at No. 3. With the win, the duo pushed their win streak to 12 matches while improving to 19-2 on the season.

The Wildcats extended their lead to 3-0 with victories at No. 3 and 4 singles before Lucile Pothier clinched the match for ACU with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Daria Panferova at the top position.

Midwestern State returns to Lone Star Conference action on the road this weekend with matches against UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico. The Mustangs begin the weekend against UTPB in a 9:30 a.m. meeting Friday at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland before facing WNMU Saturday at 9 a.m. (CST) at the WNMU Tennis Courts in Silver City, N.M.
