WICHITA FALLS, Texas - No. 21 Midwestern State claimed its seventh win over a nationally-ranked team Friday as they defeated in-region rival No. 30 St. Edward's 7-2 at the MSU Tennis Center.

The Mustangs (10-5) started the day claiming all three doubles points. On court two, sophomore Dylan Hall and freshman Angel Palacios recorded an 8-3 win over Charlie Shin and Mateus De Col while the duo of senior Chris Norrie and freshman Denney Norrie claimed an 8-3 victory over Davor Ivkovic and Andre Mercado at No. 3. Senior Ramon Toyos and sophomore Dillon Pineda completed the sweep for the Mustangs with an 8-5 score over Chase Bartlett and Chase Morehouse at one doubles.

In singles play, Pineda was quick off the court handing Will Drumwright a 6-1, 6-3 loss on court four. Palacios clinched the win for Midwestern with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Shin at No. 1 singles.

On court three, Hall battled to a 6-1, 6-7, 11-9 win over De Col just before Norrie recorded a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mercado at No. 5.

The Hilltoppers (12-9) picked up a pair of straight-set singles wins with Bartlett defeating junior Vasudev Vijayaraman, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 2 and Logan Buignet cruising by freshman Josh Sundaram, 6-0, 6-1, at six.

The Mustangs take on Auburn Montgomery tomorrow at the MSU Tennis Center with first serve set for 10 a.m.
