PENSACOLA, Fla. – Midwestern State claimed its second top-20 win of 2017 Saturday afternoon with a decisive 8-1 victory over No. 19 Georgia College at the Ralph Carson Tennis Complex.
 
The 21st-ranked Mustangs (7-3) started the day with a quick 8-1 decision at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Greta Lazzarotto and freshman Ashley Ramirez defeating Kristen Jones and Camilla Negrini.
 
On court one, sophomore Eirini Kontaki and junior Daria Panferova teamed up for the first time this season to claim the second doubles point with an 8-4 win over Jena Kelly and Emma Niemi.
 
Sophomore Maddy Coffman and freshman Bianca Duff completed the doubles sweep for Midwestern State with an 8-6 victory over Macy Polk and Hannah Serdinia at No. 2 to improve to 10-0 on the season.
 
In singles play, Kontaki defeated Kelly, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 to push Midwestern's lead to 4-0 with her seventh-straight win before Panferova clinched the match for the Mustangs with a 6-2, 6-1 score over Polk on court one.
 
Lazzarotto added to Midwestern's total with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Niemi on court five just before Coffman handed Serdinia a 6-4, 6-0 loss at No. 4 singles.
 
On court three, Duff recorded a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Negrini to push Midwestern to the 8-1 win. The Bobcats (5-5) earned their lone point on court six as Jones outlasted Ramirez, 5-7, 6-4, 12-10.
 
The Mustangs are back in action Tuesday as they play host to Metro State (Colo.) at the MSU Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
