  • Midwestern State makes its fifth NCAA Division II postseason appearance Thursday afternoon at Dallas Baptist's Patriot Soccer Field.
  • The Mustangs are 1-4-1 in NCAA Tournament matches making postseason season showings in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2016.
  • In 2016, MSU advanced past No. 10 St. Edward's in penalty kicks (T, 1-1 and 6-5 in PKs) before falling 1-0 to Texas A&M-Commerce in Commerce.

  • MSU coach Damian Clarke guides his seventh team into the postseason. His Fort Lewis teams qualified for the postseason five times advancing to the national quarterfinals in 2010. Clarke has led the Mustangs to the postseason in each of the last two years.
  • Midwestern State finished tied for third in the Lone Star Conference with a 6-5-1 league record. The Mustangs lost to Eastern New Mexico 4-0 in the postseason tournament quarterfinals.
  • MSU spent three weeks ranked in the United Soccer Coaches' Top 25 this season attaining the program's second highest ranking of 11th on Oct. 17th.
  • The Mustangs placed seven on the All-Lone Star Conference team. Senior forward Destinee Williamson (7 goals, 8 assists), sophomore midfielder Hanna Mattinson (3 goals, 1 assist) and freshman defender Micah Wilson were named to the first team. Sophomore defender Sarah Stewart (2 goals, 4 assists) and freshman midfielder Kelly Cannistra (3 goals, 5 assists) garnered second-team honors. Senior goalkeeper Courtney Burnette (9 shutouts) and junior midfielder Taylor Robinson (2 goals, 1 assist).
  • Senior midfielder Destinee Williamson leads the Mustangs offense and ranks third in the league with 22 points (7 goals, 8 assists), appearing 31st nationally in total assists.
  • Freshman midfielder Kelly Cannistra has also reached the double-figure plateau this season in scoring with 11 points (3 goals, 5 assists) to rank second for the Mustangs.
  • Defensively, the Mustangs have totaled nine shutouts to rank 43rd in the country in shutout percentage (.474)
  • Senior goalkeeper Courtney Burnette paces the LSC in shutout percentage (.474) and is third in save percentage (.798), while coming in 36th in the nation with 103 total saves and 113th in save percentage.
  • Midwestern State and Colorado School of Mines meet for the third time on the pitch Thursday afternoon in Dallas. The teams split the previous with the Mustangs claiming a 2-1 win on Sept. 26, 2008 in Golden. The Orediggers defeated MSU 3-0 earlier this season in Wichita Falls.
