  • Midwestern State hits the road for the first this season with a weekend trip to San Antonio for the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic.
  • At 2-1, the Mustangs are over .500 for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
  • MSU is coming off of a nine-day break since beating Texas Wesleyan 69-59 on Nov. 15th in Wichita Falls.
  • Senior guard/forward Whitney Taylor paces the Mustangs in scoring at 12.7 points per game. She has connected on nine triples in three games this season ranking second in the LSC with 3.0 triples per game.
  • Taylor moved into fourth on MSU's all-time 3-point makes list by matching a career best with five 3-pointers on Nov. 11th against Oklahoma Christian. She now has 118 career 3s and trails Lisa Hampton (154 3s/2011-15), Andrea Buben (132 3s/2006-10) and Kristin Ramsey (125 3s/2000-04) at the top of MSU's made 3-point field goal list.
  • Senior forward Micheline Mercelita followed her 15-point, 10-rebound effort against Oklahoma Christian on Nov. 11th with a 9-point, 7-board performance last time out against Texas Wesleyan. She is second on the team scoring 9.3 points a game with leading the club with 7.3 boards a game ranking ninth in the LSC.
  • Freshman forward Hannah Reynolds claimed Ashbrook Classic all-tournament team honors after averaging 11 points and 3.5 rebounds in her first two collegiate games. She was held to three points the last time out against Texas Wesleyan but proved effective by grabbing 10 rebounds and handing out five assists in 19 minutes of court time.
  • Reynolds is the first MSU freshman since Shatoia Gober (to score in double figures in her first two collegiate games. Gober scored 10-or-more points in the first three games of the 2011-12 season.
  • Senior forward Avery Queen scored eight points and pulled down four rebounds in her first game back from injury in a win over Texas Wesleyan on Nov. 11th.
  • Senior guard Kristin Rydell buried two 3-pointers in each of her last two outings to pull her average up to 7.3 points per game. She tallied a season-high nine points against Oklahoma Christian.
  • Ten players carry averages of 4.0 points or better through the season's first three games including Taylor (12.7), Mercelita (7.3), Reynolds (5.7), Queen (8.0), Rydell (7.3), senior Jasmine Richardson (5.0), junior Chelsey Adams (4.7), sophomore Liz Cathcart (4.3), junior Chelcie Kizart (4.0) and sophomore Mica Schneider (4.0).
  • Noel Johnson enters her 10th season at the helm of the MSU women's basketball program with an overall record of 128-125 (.506). Under Johnson's guidance, the Mustangs claimed the 2013 Lone Star Conference Championship advancing to the NCAA postseason three consecutive seasons from 2013-15.
  • MSU was picked to finish ninth in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll of coaches, sports information directors and selected media.
  • Midwestern State and St. Mary's meet for the 18th time on the hardwood Friday afternoon at Bill Greehey Arena. The Mustangs lead the series which dates back to the 1982-83 season, 13-4.
  • The MSU women are making their first appearance at Bill Greehey Arena. It's the Mustangs first trip to San Antonio to take on St. Mary's since 2000. Midwestern has won two of the three meetings between the programs played in the River City.
  • The Rattlers claimed the last meeting in the series claiming an 81-58 victory on Nov. 14, 2015 in Wichita Falls.
  • Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian meet for the 29th time on the hardwood Saturday afternoon at Bill Greehey Arena in San Antonio.
  • MSU holds a commanding 23-5 edge in the series which dates back to the 1981-82 season, but the Chaps snapped Midwestern's 13-game winning streak in the series by claiming a 92-71 victory on Dec. 3, 2015 at Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock. LCU claimed the NCAA Division II title that season.
  • This meeting is the third on a neutral floor between the programs. MSU claimed a 90-76 win on Nov. 22, 1991 in San Angelo, then won 70-49 on Feb. 23, 1993 in Levelland.
