Brooks Friedman scored two goals for the Patriots midway through the second period to trim the DBU deficit to 3-2 in the 69th minute.

Less than three minutes following DBU's second strike, Ross Fitzpatrick netted his first goal of the season off a rebound in front of the goal for a 4-2 score in the 71st minute to give the Mustangs more cushion down the stretch.
