  • Midwestern State splits its pair of Heartland Conference matchups between home and away this week as the Mustangs travel to Rogers State before returning to Stang Park to host Oklahoma Christian
  • With six games remaining on the conference slate, the Mustangs hold a three-point lead in the Heartland Conference race with a 7-0-1 record while sitting at 11-0-1 overall
  • MSU remained at No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Men's Division II National Poll this week 
  • The Midwestern defense has been one of the sharpest in the country this season, ranking second in save percentage (.909) and goals against average (.325), while appearing sixth nationally in shutout percentage (0.67) with eight clean sheets this season
  • Offensively, the Mustangs rank 29th in scoring (2.33 goals/game) and come in seventh in assists (26), 14th in points (82) and 18th in goals scored (28).
  • Senior striker Scott Doney leads the Mustangs with 20 points (9 goals, 2 assists) to rank 25th nationally, while coming in 18th in goals scored and third with five game winners
  • Senior midfielder Pierre Bocquet follows Doney on the MSU scoring list with 14 points, netting five goals along with four assists on the year
  • Freshman midfielder Carlos Flores has also reached double figures in scoring on the season with three scores and four assists for 10 points 
  • Sophomore midfielder Sebastian Venegas ranks 29th nationally with five assists to lead the Mustangs
  • The goalkeeping duo of senior Richard Goss and freshman Taylor Lampe have powered the MSU defense this season, putting up some impressive numbers through six weeks of play
  • Goss comes in seventh in the country with a .456 goals against average and eighth with a .867 save percentage 
  • After returning from injury, Lampe has made four appearances overall and has yet to allow a goal with a shutout streak of 319:25
  • Rogers State snapped a three-game losing skid last weekend with a 5-0 shutout against Eastern New Mexico to move to 6-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play
  • The Hillcats suffered a 2-1 setback to MSU on Sept. 21 in Wichita Falls with Doney netting a score in the 95th minute to lift the Mustangs to an overtime victory
  • Sophomore midfielder Jordan Watson, junior forward Jake Simpson and freshman midfielder Jaxon Pitt have each tallied six points to pace the RSU offense
  • Oklahoma Christian enters the week at 3-6-2 on the season and 1-5-2 in league action
  • Sophomore defender Garrett Blume and senior forward Anthony Buchanan have each accounted for seven points to lead the Eagles with Blume netting a team-best three goals
