THE RUNDOWN
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – A pair of goals from Hanna Mattinson and Destinee Williamson in the final four minutes of regulation lifted Midwestern State to its third-straight victory Thursday evening in a 2-0 triumph over Southern Nazarene (Okla.) at MSU Soccer Field.

With time winding down, Williamson was fouled on the left side of the box in the 87th minute to set up Mattinson's second penalty kick conversion in as many games, sending a shot past Southern Nazarene (1-4-0) goalkeeper Natasha Fuentes for her third score of the season.

Just two minutes later, Williamson struck for her first goal of the season with a shot six yards out off an assist from Mattinson to give Midwestern State (3-1-2) a comfortable 2-0 advantage with 1:42 remaining in regulation.

Goalkeeper Courtney Burnette and the Mustangs defense collected their third shutout of the season, holding the Crimson Storm to four shots on goal.

QUOTE OF THE GAME
"Southern Nazarene should take some credit from their effort today. They forced us into being desperate, and we found a way to carve out a result. I think we did well to get into dangerous areas, and eventually Destinee broke through and created a penalty kick, followed by a great 1v1 finish around the goalkeeper. We will keep improving and look forward to what's next." – Head coach Damian Clarke
