WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State hit a season-high .292 behind a career-best 21-kill performance from junior outside hitter
Aerielle Edwards in a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) over Southeastern Oklahoma State in the finale of the MSU Hampton Inn-vitational Saturday evening at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

Kristan Aduddell dished out 18 assists to lead the Mustangs to a 25-19 first set win.
SOSU held the momentum early in the second set, running out to a 5-1 lead and maintaining that advantage through most of the set until MSU went on a 4-0 run to even the score at 17 apiece following an Edwards kill. A Bettis kill and ace for Aduddell forced the Savage Storm to call a timeout after the Mustangs rallied to take a 19-18 lead. MSU claimed three of the final four points of the set to take a 25-21 win as Edwards recorded nine kills in the frame and Aduddell finished with a double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs.
The Mustangs overcame another early deficit in the third set, erasing an 8-4 hole with an Edwards kill capping off a 4-0 run. Behind the serve of Bettis and junior right side hitter
Sarah Garfield, Midwestern coasted in the final stretch as the Mustangs went on a 16-3 run to take a 25-15 victory with Garfield posting five kills and six digs on a .714 hitting percentage to give the Mustangs the sweep.
