WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Midwestern State women's tennis team advanced to their fourth-straight Lone Star Conference Championship match Friday afternoon as the second-seeded Mustangs cruised to a 5-1 victory over No. 3 seed Tarleton State in a semifinal matchup at the MSU Tennis Center.

The 17th-ranked Mustangs will play for their third-straight LSC title tomorrow at 1 p.m. against the winner between No. 1 Cameron and No. 4 Texas A&M-Kingsville at the MSU Tennis Center. 

Freshman Eirini Kontaki posted her fifth-straight win at No. 2 singles to clinch the match for Midwestern State (18-8), defeating Erika Richarme, 6-4, 6-3.

Senior Maddie Schorlemmer moved into a tie for sixth on the all-time wins list following an 8-0 victory with junior Abby White at No. 3 doubles to push her career record to 111-39 (.740) and put Midwestern in front early.

The duo of sophomore Amy Clifton and freshman Greta Lazzarotto added to the MSU lead with an 8-2 victory at No. 2 as Lazzarotto notched her team-best 23rd doubles win of the season.

Tarleton State (13-8) earned its lone point of the day at No. 1 doubles as Luiza Ferraro-Adas and Elena Preadca defeated Kontaki and senior Lindsay Nochowicz, 8-2.

White quickly stretched the MSU advantage to 3-1 in singles play with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 triumph on court six, improving to 18-3 on the season with her fifth-straight win. Clifton added to the lead a short time later with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles to lead up to Kontaki's clincher on court two.
