WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 11 Midwestern State concluded the 2016 regular season in dominant fashion Friday afternoon as the Mustangs claimed a 9-0 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Senior Day.

Prior to the match, the men's tennis program honored seniors Kyle Davidson and Zack Santagate as the duo played their final regular season home match at the MSU Tennis Center.

Midwestern State (15-8) took little time in recording a doubles sweep over the Lions, dropping just four games across all three courts for an early 3-0 advantage.

The 19th-ranked tandem of Davidson and junior Ramon Toyos cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 1 before Santagate and freshman Dillon Pineda added an 8-1 victory on court two. Junior Chris Norrie and freshman Benjamin Neander completed the sweep with an 8-3 triumph at No. 3 doubles.

Pineda led 5-0 in the first set when Grady McCain retired to give MSU a 4-0 advantage before Norrie clinched the match at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win.

Neander and Hall earned a pair of straight-set wins at the bottom of the lineup before Toyos and No. 19 Davidson concluded the match with wins on the top two courts with Davidson closing it out with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1.

The Mustangs will learn their NCAA first round opponent when the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Selection Show airs Tuesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com.
