DALLAS – A strike by freshman
Sebastian Venegas in the 81st minute lifted No. 19 Midwestern State to a 1-0 victory over Dallas Baptist Saturday evening at Patriot Soccer Field.
Midwestern State (13-2-1, 11-1-0) erupted for 15 shots in the second period with the Mustangs totaling 13 shots on goal before Venegas netted the game winner off an assist from
Antonio Hernandez.
Dallas Baptist (5-10-1, 3-9-0) hit the crossbar on a pair of occasions but was unable to get on the scoreboard for the match as the Mustangs defense limited the Patriots to just two shots on goal.
