Moore named 2015 LSC Female Athlete of the Year

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State senior Brenna Moore closed her brilliant four-year collegiate career with flourish rolling  to a South Central Region individual title on the way to becoming the school's first national champion in a varsity sport.
 
The Burkburnett product added another first to her resume Thursday afternoon. Moore garnered Lon Star Conference Female Athlete of the Year honors as voted by the league's sports information directors.
 
Moore led the final three rounds carding scores of 74, 73, 74 and 76 for a 9-over total of 297 to win by two strokes at the NCAA Division II Championships from May 13-16 at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
 
She became the first Lone Star Conference woman's golfer to claim top individual medalist honors at the national championships while earning first-team All-America mention from the Women's Golf Coaches' Association.
 
Moore finished in the Top 10 in 33 of her 44 career tournaments and in all but one of her 11 competitions this seasons. She became the first All American in program history in 2014 then repeated the honor this year helping her team to three team wins including the program's first LSC championship.
 
Moore, a four-year All-Lone Star Conference performer, completed her senior campaign with a No. 5 national GolfStat ranking and was 10th in the nation with a stroke average of 74.85.
 
Angelo State's Steve Naemark was the LSC Male Athlete of the Year leading the Rams to an NCAA Division II Baseball Championship appearance. The junior left-hander earned All-America honors from ABCA/Rawlings, Daktronics and NCBWA and was the LSC Pitcher of the Year as well as South Central Region Pitcher of the Year by NCBWA and Daktronics.
 
Naemark logged an 11-1 record to go along with an LSC single season record 1.37 ERA. He was second in the nation with 138 strikeouts in 125 innings.
