Mustangs rally to keep LSC postseason hopes alive

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Sophomore Taylor Bermudes punched a single up the middle to plate Katelyn Vinson with the winning run to cap a three-run comeback for a 6-5 win over Cameron in Game 2 Monday night at Mustangs Park.

The Mustangs faced elimination down 5-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning in Monday's nightcap, but sophomore Baylee Voigt pulled MSU to within a run at 5-4 with an run-scoring single to right field.

Midwestern continued the rally in the bottom of the seventh as junior Haley Howerton drilled a one-out double to the right-field gap before Vinson drew an intentional walk.

Senior third baseman Kelley Schaefer luanched a deep fly ball to right field to advance Howerton before Katy Vandewater an 0-for-14 slump with an RBI single up the middle to to tie the game.
