Rain washes away Mustangs 2-0 lead over Dallas Baptist

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- No. 14-ranked Midwestern State jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead over Dallas Baptist Friday afternoon before heavy rain washed away the result.

The match will not be made up as the Mustangs close the regular season Monday afternoon against Cameron at Streich-Henry Family Tennis Center in Lawton. First serve is set for 2 p.m.

Senior Kacper Boborykin claimed his 99th career dual win teaming with junior Kyle Davidson for an 8-2 victory over Bryant Forshee and Anthony Burch at the No. 2 position, while Zack Santagate and Chris Norrie beat Isaac Childs and Jake Johnson 8-0 at the No. 3 spot.

Senior Tomas Grejtak and sophomore Ramon Toyos led Cannon Jones and Zane Nelson 6-3 at the No. 1 position before precipitation descended from the gray skies.

It was Midwestern State's first match action since blanking Arkansas-Fort Smith 9-0 on April. The Mustangs carry a 15-5 record into Monday's regular season finale.
