FOR STARTERS
Midwestern State will host Colorado State-Pueblo in a non-conference meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. before concluding the week against No. 5 Angelo State in a battle of the top two Lone Star Conference teams Friday at 7 p.m. at MSU Soccer Field.
 
The Mustangs hosted Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M last weekend, returning home for the first time since the opening week of the season. Midwestern State blanked the Greyhounds, 2-0, before posting a comeback win over the Lady Buffs, 3-1. Sophomore forward Destinee Williamson accounted for both goals against ENMU while junior forwards Nicole Coetzer and Aly Wade and senior midfielder Morgan Hannon recorded scores against WTAMU.

On the season, Williamson leads the Mustangs offense with four goals and eight points while Wade has three goals and seven points. Midwestern has received contributions on the offensive side from 14 Mustangs including seven different goal scorers.
 
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME
– Midwestern State will sport pink jerseys Friday night vs. Angelo State in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game
– Girls 12 and under can purchase raffle tickets for $1 at the game and be entered to win a signed jersey and signed game ball from the Mustangs. The lucky winner will also earn a place on the bench in the final two home matches of the season (Oct. 30, Nov. 1)

SCOUTING THE THUNDERWOLVES
– CSU-Pueblo enters the week with a 4-4-2 overall record and a 2-3-2 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
– Wednesday's match will be the fourth-straight road contest for the ThunderWolves, going 0-1-2 in that span
– CSU-Pueblo has faced three nationally-ranked teams this season, falling to No. 17 St. Edward's (3-0), No. 20 UC-Colorado Springs (2-1) and tying No. 16 Colorado Mines (1-1)
– The ThunderWolves rank 32nd nationally with a .500 shutout percentage, shutting out opponents in all four of their wins this season
– Senior forward Amanda Jorgensen leads the ThunderWolves with three goals and six points, placing 11 of her 13 shots on goal this season
– Head coach Paul Regrutto is in his third season with the ThunderWolves, leading them to an 18-23-4 mark
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
– Midwestern State is 7-1-1 all-time against CSU-Pueblo with a 4-0-1 mark at MSU Soccer Field
– Wednesday's meeting will be the first between the two teams since the season opener of the 2006 season when Midwestern State defeated CSU-Pueblo 1-0 on the road
– The ThunderWolves' lone win in the series came in the 2000 season opener with a 4-0 win in Pueblo
 
SCOUTING THE RAMBELLES
– Angelo State comes in with a 9-1-1 record and 3-1-0 mark in the LSC
– ASU's lone loss of the season came to Texas A&M-Commerce on Sept. 25 in a 1-0 defeat on the road
– The Rambelles have allowed just six goals in 11 matches with six shutouts on the season
– The Rambelles offense ranks 22nd nationally in points (70), 23rd in goals (26) and 24th in assists (18)
– ASU is 17th in the country with a .529 goals against average and 22nd in save percentage with .872
– Wichita Falls native Sierra Anderson leads the Rambelles with seven goals, four assists and 18 points
– The senior forward ranks 36th in the nation in points, 39th in assists and 42nd in goals scored
– Senior goalkeeper Shantel Wittke is ninth nationally with a .900 save percentage and 15th with a .443 goals against average
– Head coach Travis McCorkle is now in his eighth season at the helm of the women's soccer program, leading the Rambelles to a 126-97-18 record
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
– Midwestern State is 14-8-7 against Angelo State in the all-time series with a 9-4-1 record at home
– The Mustangs went 0-1-1 against the Rambelles last season, earning a 0-0 draw against the 11th-ranked squad in San Angelo before falling 1-0 in Wichita Falls
– Midwestern last picked up a win at home over ASU in 2012 with a 1-0 victory
 
MUSTANGS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
– After ranking 59th with a .842 goals against average in 2014, the Mustangs defense has picked up right where they left off last season
– The Mustangs are 24th nationally with a .556 shutout percentage and 27th with a .636 goals against average after allowing just six goals in their first nine matches
– The goalkeeping duo of sophomore Courtney Burnette and redshirt freshman Brooke Bottensek have combined for a .875 save percentage for 18th in the country
 
BURNETTE COLLECTING HONORS
– After being named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Year a season ago, Burnette continues to rack up the awards in her sophomore campaign
– The Irving native was selected as the LSC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and was tabbed the LSC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16 after helping the Mountaineers to a 1-0-1 week that included a 1-0 shutout of No. 13 UC-Colorado Springs
– Burnette currently ranks 28th nationally with a .870 save percentage and 30th with a .650 goals against average
 
MIDWESTERN KNOCKS OFF NO. 13 MOUNTAIN LIONS
– In their first road match of the 2015 season, the Mustangs shutout No. 13 UC-Colorado Springs, 1-0
– Senior midfielder Morgan Hannon delivered the game winner for Midwestern, converting a penalty kick in the 63rd minute
– The win over UCCS was the first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent since the 2013 season when the Mustangs took down No. 24 Texas A&M-Commerce on the road
 
CLARKE BEGINS YEAR NO. 2
– In his first season at Midwestern, head coach Damian Clarke led the Mustangs to an 8-6-5 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the Lone Star Conference with a 3-5-2 mark
– In seven seasons at Fort Lewis (Colo.), Clarke compiled a 106-31-17 record with five NCAA Tournament appearances
– Now in his ninth season as a head coach, Clarke holds a career mark of 119-39-24 with a winning percentage of .720 that ranks 12th in NCAA Division II
 
MUSTANGS PICKED THIRD IN LSC
– Midwestern totaled 48 points for third in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll behind preseason favorite Angelo State (82) and Texas A&M-Commerce (80)
– The Mustangs return eight starters off last year's squad including 2014 All-LSC selections Morgan Hannon, Alex Edwards, Liz Navarette, Courtney Burnette and Destinee Williamson
 
LOOKING AHEAD
– Midwestern State begins a four-match road swing Friday, Oct. 16 when the Mustangs travel to Canyon to take on West Texas A&M in a 7 p.m. contest
