Midwestern State concludes its homestand Tuesday with a 6 p.m. match against Southern Nazarene (Okla.) at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The Mustangs hosted three matches last weekend, dropping Lone Star Conference meetings to Texas Woman's (3-0) and Texas A&M-Commerce (3-0) and a non-conference matchup against Dallas Baptist (3-1).
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
– Southern Nazarene is 7-10 on the season with a 3-2 record in the Great American Conference
– The Crimson Storm snapped a five-match losing skid last week with league wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central (Okla.)
– Junior outside hitter McKenna Qualls paces the SNU offense with 183 kills (2.90/set) while junior middle blocker Courtney Bowie has totaled 126 (2.00/set) with a team-best .235 hitting percentage
– Qualls has also seen success at the service line, ranking 14th nationally with 30 aces and 48th with 0.48 aces per set
– Junior libero Abbey Bell has recorded 359 digs to rank 10th in the nation while coming in 20th with 5.70 per set
– Head coach Kevin Ingram is in his 15th season at SNU with a 316-230 record

– Midwestern State holds a 22-8 all-time record against Southern Nazarene with an 11-3 mark inside Ligon Coliseum

RAWSON ERA BEGINS
– Former Midwestern State assistant coach Natalie Rawson was tabbed the eighth head volleyball coach in program history back on Mar. 24, 2015
– Rawson spent the last two seasons as the head coach at Newman (Kan.), leading the Jets to a 30-26 record and their first Heartland Conference postseason appearance in four years in 2014

Hayden Blair has had to adjust to the college game pretty quickly, appearing in 66 sets and making 17 starts to lead the Mustangs offense
– The McKinney product has posted a season-best 41 assists twice in wins over Pace (N.Y.) and Southwestern Oklahoma State and has totaled a team-best nine double-doubles
BETTIS LEADING THE WAY
– Sophomore outside hitter
Meghan Bettis has already surpassed her kill total (78) from the 2014 season, leading the Mustangs offense with 157 kills at 2.62 per set this season
– The Dripping Springs native has led the Mustangs in kills in eight matches with a season-best 18 coming against Ouachita Baptist
