ON THE COURT
Midwestern State renews the Red River Rivalry Saturday afternoon against Cameron at Aggie Gym. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- Cameron carries a five-game winning streak into Saturday's matchup with Midwestern State as the Aggies have won eight of their last nine since opening the season with losses in six of their first seven games.
- The Aggies rank as the sixth-best team in NCAA Division II knocking down 3-pointers at a 39.2-percent clip while hitting 8.1 triples per game which ranks 10th in the land.
- Cameron ranks last in scoring defense in the LSC giving up 75.2 points per game, but has surrendered fewer than 70 points in seven of its last eight games.
- Junior guard Brandi Leal leads all of NCAA Division II connecting on 3.75 3-pointers per game and has been on fire from the arc as of late. The transfer from Clarendon College is 20-of-42 (.476) from the arc over her four games averaging 16.5 points per game over the stretch.
- Senior guard Jade Herl ranks 35th nationally hitting 2.75 triples per game and is 30th nationally hitting at a 40.7-percent clip from the arc. She has accounted for at least one 3 in each of her 16 games this season while averging 9.8 points per game.
- Senior guard Jazzmine Robinson leads the Lone Star Conference in scoring at 17.9 points and is fourth in rebounding pulling down 8.2 caroms contest while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. The Las Vegas native has scored in double figures in 13 of 16 including seven games with at least 20 points with season high of 31 set against Truman State (Mo.).
- Tom Webb is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cameron women's basketball squad amassing a 70-107 record (.395).

ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Cameron for the 66th time on the hardwood Saturday afternoon at Aggie Gym.
- The Mustangs lead the overall series which dates back to the 1975-76 season by a 41-24 margin.
- MSU has won the last six meetings between the programs and 11 of the last 12 dating back to the 2006-07 season with the Aggies' lone win coming by a 67-51 count on Dec. 13, 2010.
- The Mustangs have won the last three meetings and four of the last five matchups between the programs at Aggie Gym to even up the series in Lawton, 15-all.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State rebounded to win Lone Star Conference games over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville to improve to 15-3 on the season and 6-2 in league play.
- The 15-3 mark matches the best start in school history through 18 games matching the 1989-90 squad.
- MSU ranks amongst national leaders in numerous categories as the Mustangs are 19th in blocked shots per game (4.6), 22nd in free throw percentage (75.9), 34th in scoring defense (58.9), 34th in rebounding margin (+6.2) and 46th in personal fouls per game (16.4).
- Senior forward Andrea Carter (Angleton, Texas / Angleton HS) averaged 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent from the field in wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville last week.
- Carter has scored in double figures in each of her last seven games averaging 15.1 points and 8.6 rebounds a game during the stretch while shooting 58.8 percent from the field.
- Carter notched her seventh double-double of the season going for 14 points and 14 rebounds against Angelo State.
- Carter needs six rebounds to move past Serena Carter (939 rebounds from 1989-93) into second place on MSU's all-time rebounding list.
- Senior guard Dianna Jones (Hewitt, Texas / Midway HS) came back from missing one game due to injury to score 14 points against Angelo State then went for 13 points and nine assists Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
- Jones needs 23 points to become the 20th member of MSU 1,000-Point Club.
- With her nine-assist game at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Jones moved past Mandy Cluley (315 from 1994-98) into seventh place on MSU all-time assists chart. She needs nine to pass Glenda Washington (325 from 1981-86) into sixth.
- Senior guard Shatoia Gober (Waco, Texas / Midway HS) scored 13 points and six assists Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville. It was her ninth double-figure scoring game of the season and first since scoring 10 at Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 11.
- Senior guard Lisa Hampton (Kennedale, Texas / Nolan Catholic HS) knocked down three 3-pointers against Texas A&M-Kingsville to move into a tie for second place on MSU all-time 3-point field goal makes list with Kristin Ramsey (125 from 2000-04). She needs eight more to set the career record and move past Andrea Buben (132 from 2006-10).

THE JOHNSON ERA
- Noel Johnson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Midwestern State basketball program.
- Johnson boasts a 105-80 record (.568) while leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of the last two seasons including a trip to the South Central Region finals in 2013.
- Johnson reached milestone victory No. 100 with a 61-47 win over Texas Woman's University on Jan. 1, 2015 in Denton.
- Midwestern claimed its first NCAA postseason tournament wins taking down Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.) in 2013 before falling to No. 4 Colorado Mesa in the regional final.
- Johnson led the Mustangs to its first Lone Star Conference championship in 12 seasons claiming the 2012-13 title.
- Johnson garnered Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2012 before earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Coach of the Year accolades in 2013.
