WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State delivered an all-around effort to break out of an eight-match skid with a 25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 13-25, 15-11 win over Cameron in Lone Star Conference play Friday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The Mustangs improved to 5-9 on the season while moving to 1-5 in league play.
Redshirt-freshman
Angel Summers dominated at the net for her second straight 10-block performance notching three solo blocks go to along with seven block assists.
Freshman outside hitter
Addison Semer was in on five blocks of her as the Mustangs ended the night with 12 total team blocks.
Semer also delivered on the attack as one of three MSU players with 10 kills.
The Bastrop native committed one error in 26 attacks for a .346 hitting percentage, while sophomore middle blocker
Sarah Garfield contributed 10 kills with just three errors in 18 attacks for an efficient .389 kill rate.
Junior outside hitter
Nicole Marzik had 10 kills and competed her eighth double-double of the season with 15 digs.
Senior libero
Casey Fletcher recorded 24 digs to lead back row play while freshman outside hitter
Leah Lychock had a season-high 17 digs.
Cameron's Rebecca Green put down a match-high 21 kills in 38 attempts to pace the Aggies, who fell to 5-6 and 1-5.
Midwestern State looks to build momentum Tuesday night against Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
