Midwestern State can extend its season opening unbeaten streak to six matches for the second time in school history Friday night against Lubbock Christian at the MSU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE CHAPS
- Lubbock Christian suffered its first setback of the season taking a 1-0 loss to Western State Colorado Sunday in Lubbock.
- The Chaps, who posted a 10-7 mark last season, opened the campaign with wins over University of the Southwest (N.M.) (9-2), Wayland Baptist (3-0) and Adams State (Colo.) (1-0).
- Junior forward Brooke Wendl is off to a fast start netting five goals and dishing out three assists to lead the LSCU attack.
- Freshman forward Claudia Sanchez has accounted for three goals, while sophomore midfielder Jamie Boone had two goals and two assists as six different LCU players have found the back of the net.
- Junior goalkeeper Lauren Story boasts a 0.80 goals against average letting in three goals in nearly 338 minutes between the posts. She has authored two shutouts.

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
- Midwestern State extended its home unbeaten streak to 10 matches dating back to last season battling Western State Colorado to a scoreless draw Friday, and then pounded Oklahoma Christian 6-0 Tuesday night at the MSU Soccer.
- The Mustangs suffered their last loss at the MSU Soccer Field to Angelo State on Sept. 26, 2013.
- MSU is unbeaten through the first five matches of the regular season for the fourth time in school history (2004/4-0-1, 2007/3-0-2, 2009/4-0-1).
- The 2009 MSU squad is the only team to carry an unbeaten streak into the sixth match of the season stretching the best start to 9-0-2.
- Midwestern State has strung four consecutive shutout together for the fifth time in school history. MSU boasted four-game shutout streaks in 1996, 1997 and 2004 then posted a program-best six consecutive clean sheets from Sept. 17-Oct. 4, 2009.
- Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper
Courtney Burnette, the reigning LSC Defensive Player of the Week, posted her fourth straight shutout against Oklahoma Christian and has not permitted a goal in her last 411 minutes between the posts.
- Burnette ranks third in NCAA Division II in total saves (35), 19th in save percentage (.946) and 36th in goals against average (.0429).

Damian Clarke is in his eighth overall season as a head coach boasting the 11th best winning percentage amongst NCAA Division II coaches at 108-31-19 (.744).
- Clarke led Fort Lewis to NCAA playoff appearances in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 as the Skyhawks advanced to the Elite Eight in 2010.
- Clarke is a three-time NSCAA Central Region and RMAC Coach of the Year.
