ON THE PITCH
Midwestern State looks to extend its eight-match unbeaten streak Monday night against Dallas Baptist. Kickoff from the Patriot Soccer Field is set for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
- Dallas Baptist snapped a four-match skid with a 2-1 win over McMurry last Saturday at the Patriot Soccer Field to kick off a four-game home stand.
- The Patriots start a big weekend of play taking on Heartland Conference foe St. Edward's on Saturday before welcoming 18th-ranked Midwestern State Monday night.
- Sophomore forward Landon Lacy and sophomore forward Riley Alvey lead DBU's attack with three goals and an assist each.
- Junior midfielder Brian Robertson netted goals in each of the Patriots' last two matches including the game winner against McMurry.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Mason Stringer brings a 2.14 goals against average into weekend play and ranks 69th in NCAA Division II with 4.4 saves per game.

ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Dallas Baptist for the 16th time on the pitch Monday night in Dallas.
- The Mustangs own a 14-0-1 edge in the series which dates back to the 1974 season. The teams last played in 2005.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State is 7-0-1 since taking a season opening 4-2 loss at Fort Lewis (Colo.) with the lone draw coming against St. Edward's.
- The Mustangs have spent the last two weeks at No. 18 in the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America Top 25.
- MSU plays six of its final nine regular season matches away from the MSU Soccer Field.
- Thomas Parides (Richardson, Texas / Jesuit Prep School) became the first true freshman in the Doug Elder era (since 2000) to score a hat trick Thursday at Texas-Permian Basin. It was the first three-goal performance by an MSU player since Chris Dwyer performed the feat on Sept. 23, 2011 -- at UTPB.
- Parides' hat trick was the third by a first-year player as Craig Sutherland netted three goals twice against Missouri Southern during his redshirt-freshman season of 2008.
- Senior midfielder Andrew Power (Waterford, Ireland / St. Paul's Secondary (Northern Iowa ACC)) notched points in his fourth consecutive match with an assist Thursday against Texas-Permian Basin.
- Power has scored goals in seven of MSU's nine matches this season to rank fourth in NCAA Division II with nine total goals.
- Sophomore midfielder Paul Sunderland (Manchester, England / Wright Robinson Secondary) ranks third in NCAA Division II with six total assists.
- Sophomore midfielder Kyle Baccus (Waco, Texas / Midway HS (Charlotte)) netted his first collegiate goal in the 12th minute Thursday at Texas-Permian Basin.
- Junior goalkeeper Nick Petolick (Frisco, Texas / Wakeland HS (Oral Roberts)) made four saves to polish off his fifth clean sheet of the season Thursday at Texas-Permian Basin.
- Petolick ranks fourth in career shutouts with 14 standing behind Raul Herrera (21), David Stockton (17) and Chris Robinson (15.5).

THE DOUG ELDER ERA
- Doug Elder is in his 15th season at the helm of Midwestern State.
- Elder remains NCAA Division II winningest active coach in terms of percentage at 213-48-27 (.786).
- Elder is a six-time NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year (2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011).
- Elder's teams have advanced to the NCAA Division II postseason nine times while making five national quarterfinal appearances twice advancing to the Final Four.
- Elder needs nine wins to overtake Howard Patterson (221-85-20 from 1973-89) as the program's all-time leader in coaching wins.
