SCOUTING THE BRONCHOS
Central Oklahoma carries a 3-4-1 mark into Tuesday night's match against the Mustangs at the MSU Soccer Field. The Bronchos fell to 0-1-1 in Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play taking a 1-0 defeat at Lindenwood (Mo.) on Sunday. UCO has struggled to put the ball in the net after notching eight goals in its first two contests of the season with half of the season's offensive production coming in a season opening 6-0 win over Oklahoma Christian. The Bronchos fell 3-2 to William Jewell in the second match of the campaign and tallied just four goals in six games since. They were shutout in two MIAA contests at Missouri Southern and Lindenwood. Junior forwards Kate Foran and Sarah Purcell lead the way for UCO with two goals each as 10 different players have notched goals for the Bronchos. Central Oklahoma scores 1.50 goals per game and allows 1.00.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
Former LSC rivals Midwestern State and Central Oklahoma meet for the 21st time on the pitch Tuesday night at the MSU Soccer Field. The Bronchos own a 15-5 edge in the series, but the teams have split the last six meetings dating back to the start of the 2008 season. UCO has won four of the seven meetings between the teams played in Wichita Falls.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Texas Woman's (3-5-2, 0-1-1) is winless in its last three matches and is coming off of a 2-2 draw against Eastern New Mexico Sunday in Portales after taking a 1-0 overtime defeat Friday at West Texas A&M. Freshman Alisa Velasquez paces the Pioneer attack with four goals and three assists, while junior Emily Davila adds three more tallies. Senior Tareyn Blanton and freshman Gabrielle Larson have also scored twice as 12 different players have found the net for the Pioneers this season. TWU averages 1.90 goals per game and allows 1.40.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State meets Texas Woman's for the 14th time on the pitch Friday night in Denton. The Mustangs own a 9-2-2 edge in the series that dates back to the 2002 season. Midwestern is 2-1-2 against the Pioneers in Denton.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Texas A&M-Commerce (5-1-1, 1-0-1) carries a six-match unbeaten streak into weekend play hosting Angelo State on Friday before the Mustangs come calling Sunday afternoon. The Lions suffered a season opening 1-0 setback in double overtime to No. 5 Fort Lewis (Colo.) then rattled off five straight victories over Colorado Mesa, Harding (Ark.), Dallas Baptist, Southern Nazarene and Eastern New Mexico before playing West Texas A&M to a scoreless draw Sunday in Canyon. Freshman forward Savannah Henderson paces the A&M-C attack with four goals while sophomore Anitra Wright and senior Brionna Minde have tallied three and two goals, respectively. Freshman Callie Ballard has played every minute in goal for the Lions posting a 0.54 goals against average and a .867 save percentage while notching three clean sheets. Texas A&M-Commerce scores 1.9 goals per game and allows 0.57.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State meets Texas A&M-Commerce for the 28th time on the pitch Sunday in at the A&M-C Soccer Field. The Mustangs hold a 16-8-3 overall advantage in the series that dates back to MSU's first match in program history in 1995. Midwestern is 7-4-1 all time against the Lions in Commerce and has claimed the last six meetings between the programs dating back to the 2008 season.
 
 
ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State (4-3, 0-1) had its three-game winning streak snapped in a 1-0 setback to Angelo State in its LSC opener last Thursday at the MSU Soccer Field. It was the third time the Mustangs had suffered a shutout this season and snapped a solid offensive run. Midwestern had scored three goals in wins over Oklahoma  Christian, East Central (Okla.) and Rogers State (Okla.).  It was the first time since 2008 that MSU had tallied three goals in three consecutive matches. Sophomore forward Ashley Cottrell continues to lead the Mustangs' attack with three goals and two assists while fellow sophomore Kensli Pounds adds two goals and an assist. Goalkeeper Kallie Essary is enjoying a stellar senior campaign limiting the opposition to a 0.74 goals against average with a .865 save percentage. She has notched two shutouts this season.
 
ABOUT THE LSC RACE
Texas A&M-Commerce and West Texas A&M hold the early advantage in the race for the Lone Star Conference championship. The Lions and Lady Buffs are 1-0-1 with four points followed by Angelo State at 1-0 (3 pts), Texas Woman's and Eastern New Mexico at 0-1-1 (1 pt) while MSU is 0-1.
 
MIDWESTERN IN NATIONAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Senior goalkeeper Kallie Essary is the lone Mustangs in the NCAA Division II national individual leaders. Essary ranks 43rd in save percentage (.865), 52nd in goals against average (0.736) and 98th in total saves (32.0).
